TGP Timelines

Briefly speaking:

One of the dates I will always remember in TGP is St. Patrick's Day. Mamie McOrmond was born in 1872, on that date. My Aunt Elinor was married on that date (1925). My dad was honorably discharged from the Korean War on that date (1954). So, it brought to mind many questions:
Was "so-and-so" born on a specific date?
What day of the week was it?
What other events happened on that date?
Who else may have been affected?

The questions went on and on...

Never having enough irons in the fire ( * sigh! * ), I decided to create a way see the answers to questions like those. I appended the TGP Database to include some historical facts. Which, of course, dynamically grew the database. . . . which eventually, inspired my concession to create a new one.

This is a concept that enhances my understanding of folks living back when. Currently, I have integrated innumerous facts since the beginning of time. It is constantly being updated, upgraded, .. upsized. The timelines are found in 2 places, first of which is scaled down by using existing data and found directly within TGP - the second using links to TGP Database tables from the separate TGP Timelines Database. This also being a work in progress, is briefly summarized below:

The Opening/Main screen (above) provides the accessibility for data viewing, as well as data entry. It opens the forms necessary to view/modify existing individual information. It's the same format as the TGP Database. The Timelines tab offers other form views as shown below:

A calendar is displayed, along with searching capabilities for "like" events (DOB, DOM, DOD), folks living in the period of time, notes relating to those people, genealogical information procured from that era, and major historical events of that time. The Browse button opens a view for events in history in greater detail.

I am currently building the Reporting section of Timelines. Thus far, capabilities include selection of reporting the data specific information for specific individual.

And that's it really - rather brief, I know - but Timelines offers a different and "fun" approach to viewing the family.
